POCA Bank Account Freezing Orders (AFO’s) are being increasingly used by the Police and HMRC. Many innocent individuals and business are being affected by these orders as complete access to funds is denied, usually without notice.
I successfully defended in two cases recently; one relating to an overseas business who had £150,000 frozen, the other involving an 80 year-old who had £65,000 frozen. In both cases, the authorities were persuaded to agree to set aside the orders.
